Who Is Kitano?
Kitano is the face of Arasaka in Edgerunners 2 — not the top of the pyramid, but the layer where policy becomes a person saying no to you. He appears in the corporate rooms that D and Roman keep breaking into, and he is the reason those rooms are worth breaking into.
The official character description frames him around loyalty: he views it as a valuable and indispensable asset. That is the whole character in one line. He is not cruel, he is administrative, and the show treats that as worse.
Kitano's Role in Edgerunners 2
He represents Arasaka's institutional memory. Project Capricorn was shut down, the files were deleted, and yet Kitano is still in a position to decide what happens to the people who were catalogued by it. That continuity is what makes the corporation feel genuinely powerful rather than just large.
He also serves as a foil to Kiril. Both are executives managing the same crisis for rival companies, but where Kiril is personally invested and increasingly erratic, Kitano is calm, procedural and untouched by any of it. Kiril loses everything. Kitano goes home.
